Here\u2019s a roundup of just some of what\u2019s on.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ed1f2b;\">The 47th\u00a0Hong Kong Arts Festival<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Overlapping with Hong Kong Arts Month, running until March 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hk.artsfestival.org\/\">Hong Kong Arts Festival<\/a>. The event stages a whopping 166 performances, covering opera, theatre, dance and music \u2013 truly something for everyone. This year, the theme is \u201cAt Every Stage\u201d. There are fifteen brand new productions and sixteen premieres, including the world premiere of Gangsters of Hong Kong at the Chinese Theatre and the Asian premiere of Matsuev and Friends Play Jazz. If you\u2019re inspired to improve your own skills, then you\u2019ll love the Festival PLUS masterclasses and workshops as well as backstage tours and the chance to meet cast members.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ed1f2b;\">Urban Art to get you buzzing<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Focusing on the premise that the whole city should be seen as a blank canvas, there are a number of art projects worth seeking out. ARTLANE in Sai Ying Pun brings a very photogenic cluster of mural art, adorning the walls, streets and staircases of the area. Wan Chai more than holds its own with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designdistrict.hk\/\">Design District Hong Kong<\/a>, a carefully curated open air gallery. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hkyaf.com\/\">Draw HK<\/a>places the focus firmly on the audience with a series of drawing demonstrations and fun drawing events aimed at getting you to channel your inner artist. <a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/8121B4C0-E582-44DF-A9E8-DCA80BECFA34\/HKwalls.org\">HKwalls<\/a>returns from March 23<sup>rd<\/sup>to 31st with a series of screenings and shows transforming the urban landscape. Finally, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hkyaf.com\/\">HK Urban Canvas<\/a>focuses on shutter artwork that showcases Hong Kong\u2019s many food cultures. Make your way over to Aberdeen, Ap Lei Chau and Kowloon City from late March to join in.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ed1f2b;\">Art Gallery Night<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This year, the popular Art Gallery Night takes place on March 25<sup>th<\/sup>. From 6-8pm, Hong Kong Art Gallery Association member galleries extend their opening hours to stage special events, exhibitions and other art-related experiences. Admission\u2019s free. To find out what\u2019s on where, check out their dedicated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hk-aga.org\/event\/art-gallery-night-2019\">Art Gallery Night website<\/a>for more information.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ed1f2b;\">Art Central<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It wouldn\u2019t be Hong Kong Arts Month without <a href=\"http:\/\/artcentralhongkong.com\/\">Art Central<\/a>. Taking place from March 27<sup>th<\/sup>to 31<sup>st<\/sup>at the Central Harbourfront, this highly anticipated show gathers together 107 galleries from 22 countries to put on one of Hong Kong\u2019s best events. The critically acclaimed offering comprises performance art, large-scale installations and compelling insights into the world of contemporary art by way of a comprehensive programme of talks. 2019 sees the introduction of a pop up restaurant created especially for the event \u2013 the Italian-Asian fusion cuisine of SCARPETTA di Daniele Sperindio, promising that works of art will extend to the plate as well. On top of that, The Terrace returns, with eight super-cool eateries setting up in a spectacular outdoor setting.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ed1f2b;\">Art Basel<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The popular <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbasel.com\/\">art show<\/a>returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for a three day run on March 29th, featuring modern paintings, sculptures, installations, drawings, digital artworks and more. One of its most popular exhibits is likely to be found in the Kabinett sector. There, 21 exhibitors will showcase rare works by some of Europe and Asia\u2019s most talented artists. From the colourful textiles produced by Filipino Pacita Abad to the work of Catalan Joan Mir\u00f3, there are some real treats to discover. Bring the kids \u2013 they\u2019ll enjoy the UBS Junior Art Hub with its interactive educational arts programmes.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ed1f2b;\">Asia Contemporary Art Show<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Conrad Hong Kong once again welcomes the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asiacontemporaryart.com\/shows\/main\/2019_Art_Shows\/SPRING_CONRAD\/en\">Asia Contemporary Art Show<\/a>and there are offers available to those pre-booking, including buy one get one free deals on tickets. This year, the theme is \u201cIntersections: China\u201d. Western arts meet Chinese for a reinterpretation of the traditional. Over 20 artists are represented in \u201cArtist Dialogues\u201d featuring both solo and joint presentations. The event runs from March 30<sup>th<\/sup>to April 1<sup>st<\/sup>.
